Adrian Hester is a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He received his B.A. in Music Industry/Business with an emphasis on jazz bass from the University of Southern Mississippi, under the direction of John Palenski and Larry Panella. He furthered his studies after moving to Jackson with Dr. London Branch, who has performed with artists such as Kenny Burrell, Kidd and Cliff Jordan, and Eddie Harris. Adrian has been a regular performer in venues throughout Mississippi over the past several years along with teaching private bass and theory lessons in studio and over the internet via skype.
Perception is his third CD and newest release.This CD contains different jazz styles from fast swing, smooth ballads to jazz funk. Also accompanying Adrian on this CD is his wife Sarah Clay who is performing on and co-wrote,"No Greater Love," "Moving Faith," and "Resolution." The CD is in the jazz guitar trio style with Josh Lee also playing guitar and Brandt Parks on drums.
Beyond is his second CD release. One can hear reflections of the artists who influenced him, such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter, in the chord structures and harmonies throughout his work. And at the same time, it is evident that Adrian has developed a style that is uniquely his own.
